ABOUT

Born and raised in Saitama, Japan. Hiromi passed her childhood years as the daughter of a Buddhist priest in the unusual environment of a Buddhist temple. Members of her family have been engaged in worship at the site for several generations. After graduating from college, Hiromi decided to move to New York City for a formative experience. The city provided her with many challenges and increased awareness of her own identity as a Japanese. Also her encounter with western religions made her reengage with Buddhism and Animism. Since then, Hiromi focuses on “The Divine Power” as her main theme of her work. Hiromi returned to Japan in 2011, and lives and works in Tokyo.
